Beginners Quilting Class

ESQG is offering a beginners quilting class to help you gain confidence and build skills.  Ages 8 and up welcome.  Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.  Non members must register but will pay cash on the day of the event.

We will cover basics such as:

Fabric selection 

• Cotton, poly, linen, or blends?
• Color and contrast
• Matchy, scrappy, or controlled scrappy?

Fabric preparation

• Prewash or not?
• Ironing or pressing?
• To starch or not to starch?

Cutting and assembly

• Accurate cutting techniques

• Sewing a perfect 1/4" seam

• Matching seams

• Trimming and squaring blocks
